Is there a bank holiday around the 5th December in Tenerife?

They usually take the 7th December as a 'puente' (bridge) day too.

This year the 6th is a Thursday, 7th will be the 'puente' and the 8th is the Saturday ... a long weekend, I think ...

In the tourist areas a lot of the smaller supermarkets will be open on these dates

yes we are coming over with our caravan and we are travelling from France through Bilbao and straight down to Cadiz - did you go Biarritz way and travel down through Burgos and Salamanca? We are just working out our route now and any advice would be appreciated. We have to have quite a few stops on route as we will have our dog with us!! Are you still in Tenerife? We are staying on Camping Nauta for three months - looking forward to some warmer weather through the winter!!
