THE Employment Agency and Local Development (AEDL) Council in Granadilla, under the leadership of Esteban Gonzalez III, has launched its Integral Consolidation Plan and Zone Management for Granadilla trading zones, with a total investment of 50,000 euros, subsidised by the Cabildo to the tune of 30,000 euros to hire two business experts.

Esteban Gonzalez, said, “Despite the reduction in the amount of funding from the Cabildo, the municipal corporation has decided to maintain the total investment with a greater contribution from the general expenses budget, so we can continue with the planned commercial revitalisation plans for Granadilla town, El Medano, San Isidro and Los Abrigos”.

Activities will focus on three different strategies; Municipal Commercial Campaigns; promotion of the brand image of the Commercial Zones individually and together, and other activities.

These projects will have the cooperation of business associations in the municipality, which will assist in the successful promotion of small and medium businesses, with special emphasis on the individual shopping areas.

With the development of the different editions of the Comprehensive Plan and Management Consolidation, the project has already achieved considerable progress, with a general ‘tidying up’ of the areas and the hosting of numerous events that have given impetus to sectors such as car sales, cuisine and fashion.

Esteban Gonzalez says, “Of the 62 new companies created in the last year, the fastest growing sector are businesses engaged in retail and hospitality, which account for 90 per cent”
