That's a great photo (but you know that already!).

I find photography around Teide difficult because of the high contrast between sky, sunlit ground, and dark shadows. How do you retain the detail in all of those? Do you combine multiple exposures HDR-style, or do you tweak the photo on the computer, or do you just use a great camera and your photography skills?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Landscape photography in Tenerife is generally difficult during the day when we have harsh contrasts caused by the glaring sun. The answer is to shoot during the so called golden hour (http://www.golden-hour.com/).
My images are not HDR or created by photoshop wizardry.. I use filters to balance exposure

I like the clouds too. There appears to be two distinct Layers.

Obviously a favoured spot for a Shot, and I can see why.

Only thing lacking is an Impression of the Height of Teide.

Looks like a neutral Grey Graduate to Me.

Thank you! That's my problem with Teide photography. Because I travel to Teide by bus, I'm never there during golden hour.

Alternative is Early Morning, and plenty of visits
