One of the better soap actors, had a long illness. Bumped into him in Manchester's Oxford Street at the Stage Door- true gent.

Second only to Hilda and Stan ..What a shame ..havent watched it for donkeys because great characters like these are just not there anymore .One thing that you cant say about corrie is the new stuff is better than the old .cos it aint :crying2:

Read his autobiography - a good book. He stated he had a holiday home in Tenerife, but was not able to visit as often in recent years due to breathing difficulties when flying. At least he ended his days in a place he really loved!

Yep ITV News tonight confirmed he passed away in the villa that he owned in Tenerife, at least he spent his last days somewhere he obviously enjoyed. RIP Bill, a true soap legend!

Yes Bill passed away in his sleep in his property in Las Carabelas................. I was with the family till 11pm last night a very sad time for them all.
The family were ment to go home yesteday at 6pm......... they are getting all the help and support they need here to insure they have new flights and everything goes nice and smooth for them to return back to the UK.
