The members of the new Canarian government are set to be unveiled on Monday, with all eyes on who will be given the crucial education and health briefs.
The week-end saw the power-sharing deal finalised between until now sworn enemies the Canarian Coalition party and the socialist PSOE party. The agreement, which blocks the conservative Popular Party from forming a government despite winning the elections on may 22, will almost certainly result in the CC staying in charge of five regional ministries with the PSOE taking control of three, believed to include education, which is likely to be taken on by the new vice-president José Miguel Pérez (PSOE).
