Hi everyone,
Last Sunday, I and 7 other friends who met through Couchsurfing went for a picnic in Los Cristianos.
Everybody brought some delicious home made food and drinks, we walked a total of 1.5 hours by the beach and sat on the grass and talked, laughed, practised different languages, shared food, and some of us even went for a swim. Some came along with their children who also had good fun. Finally we went to Paulīs cafe (near playa las vistas) for a coffee.
We are thinking of going again this Sunday (18th), and the
weather forecast sounds alright. If you want to come along show up in front of Burger King in the centre of Playa Las Vistas at 1.30 PM.
It is very easy to get there: From the central bus station ask for the church square (iglesia catolica, white church)and from the church continue down toward the beach until you see burger king.
We will wait until 1.40 PM in front of Burger King and slowly stroll our way to the picnic spot.
PM if you want to have my number.

Last Sunday I and 11 other members (TF and Couchsurfing forum) went for a picnic in Los Cristianos. Everybody brought some delicious home made food and drinks. We walked slowly (a total of 1.5 hours) by the beach and sat on the grass, talked, laughed, practised different languages, shared food, children played, and some of us even went for a swim. At the end, we went for a beer at Paulīs cafe (another forum member) behind the Swedish church.
We are thinking of repeating this next Sunday (25th) again, and the weather forecast sounds alright.
If you are coming along, or have any questions post something here, and show up in front of Burger King in the centre of Playa Los Cristianos at 1.30 PM.
It is very easy to get there: From Los Crist. central bus station ask for the church square (iglesia catolica, white church) and from the church continue down toward the beach until you see burger kin to your left.
We will wait until 1.40 PM in front of Burger King and then will slowly stroll our way to the picnic spot.
If you want my number PM direct.

Sunday picnic has become a tradition among some of us members of TF and other groups and forums here in South Tenerife. So far we have had picnics with up to 16 participants. Most Sundays we bring along some delicious home made food and drinks, we walk a total of 1.5 hours (45 min each way) by the beach and sit on the grass and talk, laugh, practise different languages, share food, and some of us even go for a swim. Some come with their children, and some of us come alone. Finally some of us go to Paulīs cafe (a TF member) for a coffee/beer. We are not a hardcore "walking group" and walk slowly for everybody to enjoy, and socialise with others.

We are going to picnic again next Sunday (2nd Dec), and the weather forecast sounds promising.

Sorry I will not be able to make it this time but it is a great regular event that anyone is welcome to attend. It is a great way to meet other people from other places. Long may it continue.

Yes, we get a good mix of people from different backgrounds, locals and expats...most Sundays. Some people copme to make friends, some join to try exotic food and learn recipies of others, some to practise Spanish/English, and a few even ended up dating!

I dont know why the moderator has turned this to one thread, as the dates will keep changing and the venue might also change and people will see the past picnic notices further up in the thread will think that they have missed the picnic.
