Hi All

Am looking for well peace of mind information regarding the San Eugenio Costa Adeje area and Tinerfe Garden resort.

My girlfriend is going there with a girlie friend for a weeks hol in the sun, i don't to be honest know much about Tenerife and am therefore worrying about how safe she will be.

I'am sure that Tenerife is extremely busy and popular for british tourist/holiday makers

As you guys live in Tenerife, please can you let me know if i'am being daft by worrying, do i really have anything to worry about. Is San Eugenio Costa Adeje a safe and friendly place for 2 girls to be

Any feedback that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated

Regards

Chris

I dont live in Tenerife but have been going two or three times a year for the past 15 so have some idea of the places to go as a traveller. San Eugenio Costa Adeje, is a good place to be based, you can go up to Fanabe/Torviscas/Adeje for a little more quiet stuff or go the other direction and head to Americas/Veronicas/The Patch and a long walk but nice one to Los Christianos. The girls should be able to find what they need.

We always stop there as there are plenty of places to go in either direction and it is nice a quiet round there.

San Eugenio is a nice place for girls or families as it is on the outskirts of the busy places, there is the shopping centre up the road along the main drag. I think the girls should be okay stopping there in all honesty. There are some nice restaurants along that section especially Little Italy by the casino hotel, get them to give it a try, nothing better than sitting on the balcony, sipping a glass of wine and watching the sun go down.

Hope they enjoy their holiday.:cheer::cheer:

Hello Chris,

Well i think you can put your mind at rest knowing that the area of Tenerife your girlfriend is staying is a very nice area.

But to make it even safer for them and your peace of mind a few simple bits of advice if you don't mind mate.

1. Make sure there is a safe in the Apartment.....get them to get Travellers Cheques rather than cash.
2. If off down the beach or pool area just carry enough money for the day.
3. If off down town to the disco again carry enough money for the night and also to make sure they have Taxi money aside for the lift home.....also the clubs might have the odd knob hanging around so just tell them to watch their drinks we do hear cases of drinks being spiked.....Chris also tell her the drinks here can be a lot stronger than back in the UK so tell them to take it easy.

I guess it might come across a little scary but it is not its just a case of being on the ball mate.

Once again it is a nice area but it's better to be safe than sorry.

If they need anything or any advice while their here my office is only 5mins walk from where they are staying and i and my wife will be more than happy to help.

You can check out my number and where my office is through google.

Again don't worry they will have a fab time.

The Tenerife Gardens are basic but clean and very quiet the accommodation consists of mostly bungalow type apts, and are accessed from the road up a small incline. The pool area is closed at the moment for refurb, but Porto Colon beach is a short walk away. There are plenty of good places to eat and lots of bars etc, in the area. I have always found this area very safe at night and lots of people out and about, but as with anyh holiday destination dont leave your brain on the plane when you get off. I would be very surprised if they dont have a great time, tell them to go to Siam Park which is a short walk from the Tenerife Gardens they will love it.

They will be fine San Eugenio is a great area but just like any place in the world just have your wits about you.
But one warning tell them if they see a small slightly round balding Ayrshire man with a Celtic top falling out of the Irish Rover do not approach him :whistle:
