I though I would start this thread to help parents find quality information to help children with their homework, particularly here in Tenerife, where information books are costly to get hold of. There is so much information available on the web, but it takes time to find sites that are just what you need  at the time you are asked for help by your children.

Starfall (http://www.starfall.com/n/N-info/sitemap.htm) - for help with reading.
Coxhoe Primary School Curriculum Links (http://durham.schooljotter.com/coxhoe/Curriculum+Links)
Woodlands School Links (http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/)
LearnEnglish Kids (http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/)
Parents in Touch (http://www.parentsintouch.co.uk/) - Education and information site for parents.
Khan Academy (http://www.khanacademy.org/) - a site providing lessons free on a huge range of topics and suitable for all ages. Some excellent maths resources here suitable for primary, secondary and degree level work.:)

Please share any sites that you have found useful and we can build a handy resource for other parents to share.

Just found another link that may be very useful for stories for your children for car and plane journeys as well as just for fun Storynory here (http://storynory.com/) :reading:
They can be downloaded for free onto your computer and mp3 players and ipods.

:idea:Holidays here at last- but in Tenerife they are very long.

These sites have useful and free pages to help the children remember their lessons or discover new insights in their own time:

Marvin Marshall is a man after my own heart, and his methods do work but often you have to change your whole approach to take them on board!

Some habits are so ingrained from our own childhood that it isn't easy to swap them out for more effective ones. But it is worth it when you remember! Look here for more information: http://MarvinMarshall.com

Every now and again you are reminded of something that was good in your past experience, and then when you look you find that the excellence continues in modern and up to date ways!! I loved this as a fun way of learning when it first started. I am delighted to find it is still as vibrant and enthusiastic and available on the net for us all to learn and share!!:heyhey:
