View Full Version : Is 7 inches too small?

CIM
14-12-2012, 10:40
I am just not sure if 7 inches is going to be big enough for my clients. Most of them will be used to looking at something quite a bit bigger - 10 inches being the standard size in my industry.
From what I can see though, the battery life is very good and they should last for a good 10 hours - plenty of time for most people IŽd think.
IŽd be interested in other peoples experiences with both the 7 and 10 inch versions, especially about cleaning them as they seem to get pretty grubby quite quickly. What do you generally use to wipe them down?

Full details here on the 7 inch:

I was talking to Young Golfer in the office - he has one of the mini ones (4 inches) which him and his wife use. He seems more than happy with it but I think Michelle would like to try something a bit bigger. I was thinking about giving her one for Xmas.
What do other forum members think? Is that a bit extravagant?

To be completely serious(!!), I find the 10 inch too big, and the 7 inch too small.
I have an 8.9 inch, which I have found to be the perfect size.

I think you have to be careful sharing things, no matter what the size, unless they are properly protected, some get infected you know :)

If you're thinking of giving her one for Xmas, they say width is better than length .

I'm a sucker for the old 15" on my laptop - these touchy feely ones don't do a lot for me at my age!
Built for comfort , not speed!

There is no way that I am going to reduce the size of mine by 3" just to achieve the desired quality 10" version. :(

I think you may find 10" more pleasing and you can clean it by wiping it on the curtains :spin:

If you want to run arround with it a 7 inch is better and still fits in a pocket .
For use yust at home a 10 inch .

Well I wouldn,t touch the suggested 10" machine. The O/s is outdated and cannot be up-graded. The only consolation is its price , of course. Seems to be the way of the Forum at the moment. Cheap is good!

Personally , I do think that if you do get it out to use with a client - they will be reaching for their specs just to even see it.

Best sticky with a bigger one I'd say.

I agree, dont forget they could be sitting some distance away when you use it.
Personally I've always been happy with the 7" for convenience but my husband is apparently upgrading me to a 10" (9.7" to be exact) as a surprise for Christmas

Bought one of these yesterday:
10 inches of fun (http://www.worten.es/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=04948129&oid=35|4270&c=2657190)

10 inch is a heck of a lot better than 7 when compared side by side. I think it will be a lot more useful to some of my older clients as they will be able to see it better. Dont want them squinting at it when I am showing it off...

Not lucky enough to afford one of those smaller tabets.

I do everything at home with my 50 inch Samsung.

Must admit though, reception isn't what I'd like.
