A PLANNED series of one-day strikes by Iberia staff, which threatened to disrupt Christmas plans for thousands travellers, has been called off.
There is still no agreement with the management, but the various unions representing cabin crew, ground staff and pilots, have shelved the walk-outs leading up to the festive holiday “with the airlines users in mind”.
The six strikes were planned between today (Friday) and next Friday (21st Dec) in protest against the proposed 4,500 redundancies and pay reductions of up to 35%, as well as fewer flights.
But it’s not over yet because the unions still plan to stage the strikes next month should an agreement with the Iberia management not be reached.
