THE Granadilla Department of Services, headed by socialist Councillor Juan Rodriguez Bello, is currently proceeding with the implementation of a comprehensive plan of improvements along the coast of the Municipality, specifically in the areas of La Jaquita and El Cabezo, in El Medano, which will mean a “significant” change in aesthetics and the improvement of safety and accessibility to the areas.
Bello Rodriguez explains that the works have focused mainly on general cleanliness, the removal of weeds, pruning back plants and making easier access to swimming areas. Above all, he said, “It is much more attractive if we maintain these areas along the coast and thus avoid deterioration over time”.
All this, said Rodriguez Bello, has been achieved by services personnel and paid for from the municipal coffers, in response to demands from citizens and users in general, due to the poor state of this area of El Medano.
So, not only does it provide better aesthetics, he said, but also safety and accessibility to beaches that are travelled by thousands of tourists and users throughout the year, along with providing the appropriate levels of security and welfare for the residents of the municipality.
