I don't think many people will be surprised and all the Gold Medal winners received a honour in some form.

Good luck to them all but it won't change my life.

Sir, Dame, CBE, OBE and the rest .. such devalued almost meaningless titles these days. Too many sports people and entertainers are awarded these honours. Won't change my life either 5p, except for making more grumpy !!

Maybe these titles should be reserved for people who do great things for world peace, save lives, help others etc. etc. Not just for people who are good at their chosen sport or entertainers. We would all love to do what they do.
But Bradley Wiggins, with his tour de France win deserves it I think.

Anyone can have these honours now. Why not do what Old Golfer did. He knighted himself to become SirOldGolfer. He also appointed himself as Golf Ambassador to Tenerife. Check out his FB and Twitter. Clearly, you can be what you want to be.

Why not add MTF to your moniker. (Member of Tenerife Forum) :)

Absolutely ludicrous that people get Honours for services to Sport, Entertainment etc. they are well paid for what they do and half of them are rubbish anyway.Really gets my goat. Why the hell should somebody who rides a bike be made a Sir.What about all the people that day in day out care for Cancer patients, work in Hospices care for people with Dementure and many other occupations they get no recognition and in a lot of cases get no pay when some old has been gets Knighted.
