SOMEWHERE inTenerife, at least one group of people who forked out 200 euros between them for an El Niño lottery ticket before Christmas will still be celebrating.

That’s because they have shared two million euros as part of winning ticket No 30.875. It means that those who held a décimo (one-10th) will each have won 200,000 euros.

And they will not be too concerned about the 20% tax levied for the first time by the Spanish Government on all State lottery winnings above 2,500 euros.

Most of the tickets were sold inAlicantecity and in Alcorcón (Madrid), with a few others went in the centre ofMadrid, in Parla (near the capital), in León and inMurcia.

It came as a Godsend to many of the winners, who were unemployed and struggling to pay their mortgages. Not any more, they’re not, because their lives have changed forever.

Second prize went to those holding ticket number 46.674, with a million euros for winners with a full ticket, and 100,000 euros for each décimo.

Most were sold in Banyeres de Mariola (Alicante), Albacete, Almería, Palma (Mallorca) Dulcimayor and Cala Ratjada (Mallorca), Guareña (Badajoz), and Badalona and Sant Andreu de la Barca (Barcelona).

The 12 numbers providing the 14,000-euro per décimo third prizes were 49.450; 34.701; 66.720; 11.182; 50.601; 15.094; 34.676; 26.316; 83.490; 12.522, and 45.916
