View Full Version : Fiestas Are there any traditional Easter processions in Tenerife South?
Does anyone know if there is a traditional religious Easter parade (KKK style pointy hats etc! - see attached picture) anywhere in the South.
I witnessed one of these in mainland Spain a few years ago, and was spellbound, and would like to take the family to see one in Tenerife when we come for Easter. But the only pictures I can find on the internet are of processions in La Laguna, and I really didn't want to go that far, but will if necessary. It really is worth seeing!

Surely in La Laguna you can see the KKK style. I am not so sure in Adeje where as I've been told it takes place the unique one what deserves to be called procession

Well worth seeing. We went two years ago and it's really good. Pro actors play the main parts, and tv are also there.
Yes Adeje is a must. I go every year and it is televised throughout Spain a great day out. If you get tired just pop into a pub and watch it on TV most of the outlets show the proceedings

Incidently I have a Chinese friend who asked me why do Western European Christians stuff their children,
with Cocoa flavoured sugar at Easter? I had no good answer for him.

now i'm not sure if you're calling me a masochist for "going" (although I didn't mean literally) with Bonitatime, or for going to a religious parade... being that i'm aethist, i'll take the second idea hahahaha..... :devil2:
and any excuse to eat chocolate would be my answer to your second point..... :D

Donīt know if you really want an answer but here it is anyway - the original stone that sealed the crypt Jesus was placed in was egg shaped -so people used to go in earlier days before chocolate eggs witha decorated boiled eggs and roll them down a hill on Easter Sunday , depicting the rolling back of stone at crypt -. then came the commercialisation and choclate easter eggs !
How boring was that!

maybe we should go together then LOL
Any tips from those who have seen the Adeje passion for the best vantage points (bars & restaurants included!), where to park etc.?
