AS part of the Tenerife Cabildo initiative ‘Volcanoes for life’ an investment of 95,000 euros has been made to develop the viewing point Los Poleos in Santiago del Teide.
The work is just one part of a much larger project to boost tourism with the volcano related theme, designed by Turismo de Tenerife.
Carlos Alonso, Tenerife Cabildo Vice-President explained that “this action, which will be completed soon, has received an investment of 95,000 euros and adds to existing activity carried out at the viewpoints of La Crucita (Arafo) and Pino Gordo (Vilaflor). ”
The Los Poleos viewpoint, located on the TF-38, within the Parque Natural de la Corona Forestal area consists of refurbishing the whole area, improving the area for vehicles to stop and a new pathway.
After a joint effort developed with business and local entities from Tenerife, ‘Volcanoes for life’ has managed to design a full range of activities through five major volcanic areas in which the island has been classified and where tourists can learn more about volcanic manifestations present in Tenerife.
