Bass player (electric) looking for work in Tenerife...

Classic Rock, Blues... although I'd be happy to play pop type stuff too...

Don't live in Tenerife at the moment but seriously thinking about a move, I'm in a couple of bands here, have lots of gear & yes I'd have my own transport.

Tough going over here i'm sad to say. Most bars have karoke tribute acts, very few use real musicians. Those that do milk it and pay bad as they know there are only a few venues where a real band can perform. I'm speaking from experience, i've been here now for over 10 years, playing guitar for 35+ years and it's hard for a good band to find good work. Put on a wig, wear stupid clothes and pretend your someone else and you'll do ok, but if you have talent as a musician, it's a bit harder. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is the way it is over here. If you come over to stay tho, give me a message and at least we can find somewhere to jam.

Thanks for that, where do you live in Tenerife?
I've visited a few times in the last few years, seen some
good bands... Harley's bar in Costa Adeje & Sax bar in Americas,
but as you say most of the so called musicians have been pretty poor..
Next time I'm over there I'll pm you, I'll buy you a pint for your helpful
reply... & pick your brains a bit more :-)
