Do I need to register my dog in Tenerife?

Hi. Can anyone advise me when I need to register my dog when I come over to live in tenerife in October I understand I need to go to the town hall. All help very much appreciated.

We were told by our vet that we needed to register our dog (any dog).We went up to the police station in san miguel with the pet passport and our NIE .Went back 3 days later to collect the registration.There is no charge.

Yes you need to register all dogs but what is required does vary from each town hall.In Arona you go to Deapartmento de Sanidad with dogs passport, insurance and your NIE passport or residencia and they charge a small fee.Adeje is the same unless its changed since we lived there.
