View Full Version : Wanted Qualified electrician looking for work in Tenerife
39 year old fully qualified electrician looking for work in the building trade , honest and reliable ,,,
There are a few posts on here that you can look for for info but in short: if you don't speak fluent Spanish and you don't know the current eu regs (Way different from UK) you are not going to be working here as a sparky. When you have both the above you can either decide to work for an existing company and earn about 60€ per day or if you feel you have enough contacts to keep you in work you can go it alone. Good luck to you and welcome but don't think it's going to be easy. Keep in touch on the forum and let us know how you are getting on. :welcome:

In order to work here legally as an electrician you would need you qualifications translated and registered with the necessary colegio in Santa Cruz. You would have to be sure though that you will get work but you are far more likely to get work if you are a fluent Spanish speaker, have Your qualifications recognized and registered here , and are working legally

And on top of that, there is no 'building trade' here.
Hope you have an umbrella, so much rain on your parade.
Good luck anyway, self employed may be your only option, as a 'minor repairs engineer' at €15 an hour.
