Blaze At Santa Cruz Carnaval Queen Gala

Soraya Rodríguez Castro, wearing a costume entitled “Volare” designed by Saliarca Creatives (Meridian CC) was elected Santa Cruz Carnaval Queen 2013 yesterday.

But the 3 hour gala event featuring Bollywood style dancing, was overshadowed after competitor number 7, Saida Maria Prieto, had to be rushed to hospital.

This is so sad. Over 40% if her body is burned and there is talk she will be sent to the special burn unit in Seville.
All official events have been cancelled today and possibly tomorrow

The Cabalgata and parades have been cancelled tomorrow apparently.
The girlhas almost 60% burns to her body - gravely ill - we all pray for her .

what a horrible thing to have happened to this girl. she is very much in my thoughts and i wondered if there was any update on her condition.
