How do I get my HP Deskjet 3070a to print from my iPad?

PLEASE HELP ME I have just bought the DESKJET 3070 to work with my iPad as well as the laptop. Cannot get the printer to find my router which is a fritz box from Direct Telecom. Have been through all instructions been back to shop who tell me I need to download an app via ITunes in order to get this printer onto the router. The iPad recognizes the printer but printer will not recognize the router. If there is anyone out there living near Puerto Santiago who can come and get me up and running, and while you are there sort out problems with our laptop PLEASE let me know, otherwise it's going through a window!

Just to add, WIFI printers can now act as if THEY are the router, and thus do NOT need to connect via your own router - they connect directly to the WIFI tablet/laptop .

Sorry if the above does not apply to the iPad/HP printer you have.

My sister purchased a Galaxy Note 2, and decided to get a laser printer - they connect together via WIFI without router involvement.

Thanks to you both but have already tried all that and it doesn't work because I just cannot get the printer to go onto wireless. It ask the question "wireless on/off" I press for "on" the printer control panel shows printer connected but the flashing blue light doesn't,'t go to solid blue light and when I try to move to next step nothing happens!

So the setup manual does not recommend a USB to PC/Laptop connection first to allow you to enter router name / password / wep code ?
