Thought this site was suppose to help people , OBVIOUSLY NOT !!!!!!!!!!
I know this is a long shot but is there any product that you can buy to smarten up sun damaged cars , and not resprayingi know here in the uk you can have the car mopped, they buff the paintwork up with a polisher and i think it takes a couple of layers of paint off, but it has to be done by a professional because if you go to deep you will end up having it resprayed:lol:, other than that you can use Tcut and polish it yourself but it is a bit laborious :(

[QUOTE=Fivepence;261968]Have a look at this Joanne. (http://www.ehow.com/how_5035246_fix-sun-damage-car.html)it looks very much like the mopping i was on about 5p, but it isn't something you should do without training, even the guys at the place i get my car valeted won't do it for me until they have been on the training course:wink:

I once did an old red VW Polo that the wife had.
It had gone very dull and I used polish with a red colour in it. Like this (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_21 9145_categoryId_165527_langId_-1?cm_sp=Intelligent_Offer-_-Product_Details_Zone_1-_-Blank&iozone=PDPz1)
I used a damp cloth to rub the polish in by hand and then used an electric buffer to polish.
It came up grand.
My comment was meant to be lighthearted, sorry for any offence it may have caused.

If its a metallic colour the sun can bleach the lacquer off and looks like its peeling skin after sunburn. Needs respray and new lacquer dear. I once saw a car go through an auction covered in baby oil, nice and shiny it was.

:agree: SDV, if the paint is so damaged that it's peeling...............it's had it.
Its not the paint as its been said its the lacquer that has peeled so its needs painting again nothing else can be gone.
The hard part is finding a good painter here.

No - Chano in Valle San Lorenzo is a wizard with paint jobs, not the cheapest, but good, really good!
You get what you pay for. :)
