I am starting this thread as I am interested in the impact of the strike over these dates but haven't seen much information myself, is anyone aware of exactly what problems are anticipated at Tenerife South airport?

Yes, Cairo i would like to find out too?? We are coming over on the 5th March for a week.. and was wondering if the strike will effect the groundcrew/airport staff., etc at Tenerife end.

Any help would be greatfully received.

This is a report on this weeks strike. Doesn't look like any UK flights were badly affected.

“This time, the strikes affect all airlines and there have been cancellations in flights from Vueling, Air Nostrum, Iberia Express, Iberia and Air Berlin.”

We are due to fly out from Birmingham on 4th march with Monarch. The Monarch website states that a TFS flight due out on Tuesday from Manchester flew into Tenerife North & Monarch transported passenger to the south. So that's good to know that people were still able to have their holiday.
Lets hope they reach a conclusion soon.

Oh no. I go on March 8th from Birmingham and I really don't do road travel too well so I hope it won't cause any problems

I've just looked at the Monarch site and they say the strike is Iberia in Spain 21/22 February. They mention flights to main land Spain but not The Canaries. If you are travelling with them they will email you if there are any changes to your scheduled flight. Hope this helps.

Fingers crossed I expect my Grandddaughter today and so far it looks as though the flight she will come on Iberia Express will fly from Madrid .
