Turismo de Tenerife are looking at ITB Berlin for increased air connectivity with the island.
Tenerife Tourism will seek at the next edition of ITB Berlin, which is being held in the German capital from the 6th to 10th March, increased air connectivity with the island.
Turismo de Tenerife will be holding approximately forty meetings with airlines and tour operators during the event.
Vice President and Chief Cabildo Insular de Turismo, Carlos Alonso, explained that “the ultimate goal we are pursuing during these meetings is to strengthen and increase the arrival of German travellers toTenerife. During 2012 more than half a million travellers visited, a third of our most important source market.”
The Minister added that “the fact that, in addition, if we are the preferred destination for German tourists, it strengthens us to continue on the same line as we are developing actions in Germany to attract more travellers of that nationality.”
On Friday [March 8] will be the presentation ofTenerifeto about 50 accredited media at ITB. Different volcanic areas of the island, its values ​​and natural areas, ample opportunities for sports and outdoor activities, its climate are just some of the aspects that will be exposed to the press. The delegation will be headed by the Tenerife Cabildo president Ricardo Melchior, by Carlos Alonso himself, and the CEO of Tourism Tenerife, Miguel Angel Santos, who will attend the fair accompanied by nearly fifty entities and associated companies of Tenerife Tourism and the municipalities of Adeje, Arona and Puerto de la Cruz and representatives of Ashotel. Among the meetings that will take place are with the airlines and major German tour operators in Europe such as Rewe, Thomas Cook, Condor, AirBerlin,Germaniaand TUI. In them, the island will be able to gather information about its forecasts for summer and winter seasons coming, market trends and develop strategies regardingTenerife
