Does anyone know when Ryanair release flights for Christmas? Flights don't seem to be budging at the moment for any airlines!

I think last year they opened in May but not 100% sure I know for sure that Easyjet opened from Edinburgh on 23/3/13 and we got a real bargain for our new year flight 2 flights with all costs included £334.83 total. So maybe keep an eye out for Easyjet:tiphat:

Ryanair were extremely late last year with their winter schedule. It must have been August or September!

I don't know where you are flying from, but Monarch are offering their winter Tenerife flights. Always an Easy Jet fan I have changed from Manchester to Gatwick and found excellent times and received an additional £50 discount, £285 for two with two 20kg hold bags, pre booked seats, and online check in. In recent years I haven't found any thing like that with Ryanair from East Midlands. Easy Jet have always had the best prices for me but impatience has got the better of me.

Hi everyone As I posted many months ago, I have tired of Tenerife and plan to go to Gran Canary this winter. I have been waiting and asking questions as to when Ryanair will release their winter 13/14 flights to the Canaries.
Have had a lot of fruitless answers on Ryanairs forum site??? So rang Ryanair at Bristol airport. was told by a staff member they will be released Aug 13. But have read elsewhere Ryanair may pull out of the Canaries if the governments wont cut costs imposed.

Winter flights on sale from East Midlands, Bristol and Leeds Bradford, will keep checking other airports.

Those are the only airports at the moment, as far as I can see.

Manchester and Liverpool are now on sale. I was looking for a flight back from Tenerife to Manchester, but it was double the price of the flight back to East Midlands, so we have booked East Midlands this time. £75 each no bags to East Midlands, £146 to Manchester.

Indirect flights can work out cheaper sometimes but if you are only going for a week a lot of hassle and lost sun time. The prices are a complete rip off, not just from Ryanair they are all the same, there's nothing Tenerife has to offer that would get me to pay these rip off rates.:(

Ryanair prices can come down and frequently do, I have booked several flights last year and again this year and later found the price has dropped.

Flights our son booked to come and see see us during the summer holidays have also come down - so they do change.

I am looking at specific flights from the mainland to Tenerife and the € one way price has gone from 45,57,72,90 then dropped to 45 and now back to 57 !

Some of our family have flights booked for the October school half-term week and they are probably one of the very few that do not come down in price due to the time of year and limited school holiday window.

Ye same thing happened to me. I booked my flights with Ryanair a couple of months in advance for €107 one way. I checked the price again 2 weeks before and they had dropped to €78 :( don't know why I checked!!! The only time you can be sure they will go up is during the school holidays.

Do any airlines accept deposits on flights? I'm looking now and it seems most want the full amount in full!

Prices are too high to pay in full! Just hope they don't go up and I can pay full in a few months, would be cheaper to do a package holiday!

Yes I'm sure all want full amount when booking now
A1 Travel.com used to do a deposit only but I checked just now and they want full cost as well now
If you can take out a new credit card with a long 0% payback on purchases flights can be purchased with that and pay back so much a month but make sure it's all paid before the 0% time is up Or you run into big interest charges !!

I don't know if London Gatwick is any good, but Norwegian.com can be reasonable as long as you avoid Friday and Monday an example of fares:-

Tuesday 4 February 0700 - 11.15 returning Tuesday 11 February 12.05 - 1620 - £75.40 not including bags.

I paid £80 last February with Easyjet from Manchester, no chance of those prices again. Wish I lived near Gatwick I would definitely use these.

To make some small savings you can consider doing what we do when booking Ryanair flights from the UK.

We book each flight i.e. outbound and return as separate flights. GBP price for the outbound and Euro price for the return, 99.9% of the time the Euro cost is the same as in GBP.

However, when you come to pay for the return you can take the Ryanair exchange rate, currently around 1.10 which means that a 100€ return leg flight becomes 100€/1.10 = £91 or take your Bank rate instead, around 1.15, and it becomes 100€/1.15=£87.

The downside is you have to input API for each booking. Clearly when the exchange rate is higher you make greater savings.
