I have never seen a bookie here. If there is one it would be spanish.
On-line bookies would be your best bet.

Just ask when you get there Neil. Someone will point out the bars that will be able to assist.
They're the worst kept secret in Tenerife..

There are quite a few bookies around the south now,but you can't bet on horse racing. My o/h just phones back to the uk any time he wants to put a bet on.

My o/h just phones back to the uk any time he wants to put a bet on.i had a bet on hoarse racing in (as i have just been informed) the ? bar on the strip in las americas? and our former owner and chairman terry ramsden visits tenerife a lot and can be seen on numerous occasions in a bar in porto colon making bets on hoarses, and he is one of the most famous hoarse racing betters in the country:wink:

if you are staying in Los Cristianos and around the Tenerife/Cristian Sur hotels just ask anyone where the nearest place (bar) to place a bet and you will not be too far a walk away !

I, like others I'm sure, know the name of the bar but have resisted going into print for obvious reasons !!!

I would suggest the original poster has got an answer to his question and its now down to him to ask around 1-1 (face to face) rather than via this thread which has probably served its purpose on this occasion

What a surprise. The holier than holy brigade can come out into the open to assist in the act of a criminal nature, when it suits. Double standars, hypocrisy and any other way of describing illegality when it suits. I have to wonder if placing such bets is in breach of some "Data Protection Laws" and the like? Hope not. Crap to that. Hope it is.

thanks for all your replies people, i am aware of the irish bar in puerta colon but i will avoid that one, ive heard that the 2 blokes running it are on there arses financially and are putting limits on anybody who has a few winners, i've heard from a reliable source that one guy who had a couple of decent winners can only bet 20 euros per race now and that they have done that to quite a few people

i was looking for a decent bookies that doesnt mind taking decent bets, not that i win that often but i want to be able to bet what i want and to now im going to get paid out

anyway, ive had a few pm's telling me where there are some decent bookies, thanks for all your help.

The two bookies you mention are friends of mine, if you PM me your contact details i can put you in touch with them or them in touch with you and you can deal with them directly with your bets rather than you work on hearsay.

Wish i was on my **** that bad that i had to lower myself to the sad point i had to endure a Porsche Cayenne for my mode of transport. ;)

Will do, end of day though anyones business is their own business, if you want to place such bets place them online if you cant place them here, register an account and place what you want, in this day and age there are no limits on the internet. :)

i do most of my betting online now anyway, the high street bookie is slowly dying out

its just cheltenham where i like to sit and watch the races and have a bet

i dont really want to give my detaiuls out to anybody, during cheltenham i will be leaving my apartment each day with around 2000 euro in cash, thats my daily limit, im not a rich man by any means, i work hard and cheltenham is my dirty little treat to myself, so im sure you understand

thanks for your help

I do, i worked for the bookies during Cheltenham a few years ago, perhaps have your big thrill online, for the record they have always limited payout on a single bet and a payout. :)

neilrobinson
10-03-2013, 03:30
i know they have a 3000 euro limit on payouts, thats fine, i understand that, the problem is that they wont let you put a single bet on that will pay 3000 euro, about a year ago i tried to put a bet on of 300 euro on an 8/1, he said no, you can only have 150 on it, the problem i have is with them saying 3000 euro linit but not accepting a bet that only paid 2700 euro, whats the point of that, to me that is dishonest, 3000 is 3000 regardless of the stake or the price of the horse, they are a joke of a bookies, the horse lost in case you were wondering

I have closed this thread for obvious reasons.

If you read through the thread some members have offered advice and have asked for PMs to be used.

I think it's only fair that we go that way to avoid repercussions either way..
