Mammies…

Where are those ladies
That pick us up when we are down

Where are those kind loving friends
That make us smile when we are sad
Displaying only now and then a fed up frown

Where are they

Those feminine soft voices of calm and reason
That tell us what to wear and how to express ourselves each season

Where are those angels that brighten up each day
That relentlessly listen to us and allow us all our say

Where are they

That teach us what a womans work is worth
That unselfishly remind us of the pains we caused at birth

Where are they

That comfort us and allow us our bumps and pains
Where are they that shelter us from rain or large hail stane

Where are they

That Dad relied upon and accepted all his faults that taught us right from wrong and when to turn from cheap insults

Where are they

Those creatures that smell and look so good
That make our beds iron clothes and have us eat our food

Where are they

With those loving arms outstretched and always there that made our hearts and heads sleep peacefully with a calmness that we still share

Where are they

That taught us love and respect and kindly trait
Where are those miracle women who outshine all others that relate

Where are they

Our ladies of compassion who keep the age-old bonds still connected and the fashion

Still there

Always in our hearts for without our Mammies with us or departed the worlds most needed and appreciated commodity

Where would we be now…?

If It Wisnay for Oor Mammies.

Gone for many long years now but never forgotten
Bless you Mum
