I am an avid Poker fan (when I have the time to actually play!) and used to play several hours a day online.
I love playing live poker as well but see it as a more casual / social thing than my online activities where my goal was to maximize return.
I have played very little over the last 3 years due to work getting a bit out of hand and basically taking up all of my free time but have just this evening stuck a couple of hundred Euros into PartyPoker.es so I can play a few tournaments.
If anyone else is a fan of online poker I would strongly recommend setting up an account with a .es provider as the Spanish government are now mega heavy on the poker rooms to ensure anyone residing in Spain is playing through a Spanish domain (basically so they can get their tax.)
If anyone is up for a group game at a private table, post here, deposit 20€ or more and if we can get 8 or so players we can set up a private forum table.
I would suggest No Limit Hold ´em 10€ buy in. 3, 2 1 payout. Friendly fun game which would probably take around an hour. This means you pay 10€ to enter and you receive 1,500 chips. You lose all your chips - you´re out. Tournaments like this are a good, safe way to play and limit your losses to the initial buy in (10€ for example). Its the only way I play really.
I also spoke to a client recently about live poker at the casino here and he mentioned there were a couple of live games a week of NLHE at various different buy ins. I´d be interested in taking part in a couple of these over the next month but cant remember what nights he said each game was on. Does anyone go to the casino regularly to play poker ?
If so, I would be grateful for a breakdown on what games are played and on what nights. And what your thoughts are on the level of skill (fish - shark etc)
