What is the current IVA rate on a new vehicle in Tenerife?

Can anyone help me with the question of IVA?
What is the percentage payable on the purchase of a new vehicle in Tenerife?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

We don't have IVa here we have IGIC and current rate is 5.5 percent .

Not on a new vehicle it isn't ... correct me if I am wrong but IGIC on a new car is 13.5Ç%

Have just had a quote for a new vehicle and it includes IGIC at 13.5% plus the Impuesto de Matriculation (ie registration costs) at 3.75%.

Sorry misread the post thought it was just the "normal" rate OP was asking about.Cars are of course different as you say but if you want to buy new you don't have any choice other than to pay all the costs involved.

In any event, to the average customer, he will only look at the bottom line shown in the garage as that should give a figure and then a breakdown as to how this figure has been reached.
