How much does it cost to give someone power of attorney in Tenerife?

Weve sold a place but in the uk the agent has told us it £500 to give power of atourney could somone advice if this is about the right place ,As were wondering if it would work out cheaper to fly over ,Thanks

That sounds about right helhod, I was quoted £600 + , only 3 weeks ago. Plus it will be another £130.00 to register the PoA.

A LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY will cost £5-600 in the UK. For info this replaced the Enduring POA which is no longer available. The Lasting POA has to be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. Their fee is over £100. The LPOA is totally invalid if not registered and there are serious penalties for misuse. The LPOA document runs more than 20 pages, so always ensure you ask a solicitor for more than one notorised copy, as no orgainsation will accept a photocopy/scanned copy or emailed copy.

This is not the type of POA document you should give to an agent. It's more appropriate, for example, in preparation for handling the affairs of someone who becomes ill (alzherimers etc) - but whoever gives that type of POA MUST have the mental capacity to do so.It is a long term document. Hence only use a lawyer.

The ordinary power of attorney is simpler and can be restricted to say, the one purpose it's meant for. In this case handling the sale of a property. However, I wouldn't want to give it to an agent. Make it in favour of a lawyer. It's worth the extra.

We certainly would NOT give it to the agent ,we have found cheap flights so going out for a few days thanks for the info
