Mainland have rejected the Canarian governments request for a permanent water carrying aircraft (hidroavión .... does anyone konw what they are called in English ? :dontknow:) have been rejected by Madrid.

That means that if we get forest fires again this year, there will be up to 2 days delay whilst they are mobilized from Andalucia.

At times like this I understand the independence sentiments.

The big ones on the Canadian west coast (Vancouver Island) are called water bombers.

Seaplane .....

I think Seaplanes just land on water, as opposed to carry water to extinguish fire, but I stand to be corrected.

No, apparently the pyromaniacs will have to try harder this year.

OK, what else was said at the time was that some forest areas could be reclassified to urban

Is that rubbish also ?

That was in La Gomera I think, but that money was supposed to come from Madrid.
