PLAY-OFF FINAL 1ST LEG

SUNDAY 26TH MAY - KICK OFF MIDDAY

CD TENERIFE vs CE L´HOSPITALET

So CD Tenerife have drawn the winners from Group 3 (Catalan and East Spain group) Hospitalet. Not a bad draw(best to avoid Alaves) but they were not group winners for nothing and have the leading scorer in Cirio who notched up 21 goals. First leg here next Sunday and the return the Sunday after June 2nd in Barcelona. The Catalans play on an artifical pitch which is not good but better than playing on a bumpy/mudbath like some we have recently on the mainland.

If anyone wants to make their way from UK that would be great. Tickets for the away match are just 10€ BEFOREHAND OR 15€ ON THE DOOR) and there should not be much trouble in getting hold of them, the stadium holds 8.000 but Hospitalet rarely get over 600/700 fans.
Plans are underway for the away excursion AND Tenerife could well have 1,000 supporters in 2 weeks time in Barcelona.
Also, as well as our final you could take the opportunity to watch FC Barcelona vs Malaga which is likely to be played on the Sat. June 1st evening.
WHAT A WEEKEND!!!

Away leg
sunday 2nd june
kick off midday

viajes halcon - 2 nights friday to monday -320€. 1 night sat to sunday - 265€
bit pricey we thought so we have booked flights all over the place but most go on the ryanair saturday 16.20hrs and return monday at 21hrs. Price originally was 38€.went up to 50€. Now it is 80 odd€. Still better than viajes halcon. Obviously you still need 2 nights hotel - 50/60€ and match ticket-10€.

Okay, we are going to book the Campanile Barcelona Sud at Cornella De Lobegrat .It wont be far away from you. You need to sort a ticket out for the match. I go tomorrow to santa cruz to pay for it. Let me know. 10€

Trip Latest ; Viajes Halcon have put on 2 charters for 372 fans. Another 1 or 2 flights may be added. A few Armada Sur in end are going with >Viajes Halcon but the majority will go Sat to Monday with Ryanair. We will stay at the Campanile Barcelona Sud at Cornella De Lobegrat. I will go to santa cruz tomorrow to buy match tickets for away game. So far, at least 8 Armada Sur coming from UK to support CDT in Catalunya. Come on.... any more?

Could easily be over 1,000 CD Tenerife fans in Barcelona the weekend after next. Not bad for third level and the distances/lack of time involved.

oh Fred im in a right old panic, Trying to explain to my good lady what an important event this game is........shes not aving it! I should play my delia video "Lets Be Having you"... Then the flights are so expensive, anybody notice a good deal tell me, I'm in Norwich but can travel to any London airport.

Saying the trip is expensive one two tickets and travel etc for man city last week cost the best part of £200.
Fred can you pay on the gate?

I have paid for your ticket Young Golfer. Seems a bit of confusion surrounding the Viajes Halcon charter flights. The one coming back they said after the game is in fact at 4am (game finishes 14 hrs before at 2pm previous day!).

Around 25 Armada Sur going now and in total perhaps 1,000 Tenerife will invade Barcelona next weekend despite lack of decent package trips. For instance the Ryan air has gone up from 38€ return to almost 180€ in 2 days.

Just met most of the crowd leaving the stadium, apart from a very small group of younger lads, you wouldn't know from the local spectators that they had won not much emotion or excitement there.........

You obviously were not in the stadium then. The late goal dampened the atmosphere for sure. Winning 3-0 is practically game over and promotion, but 3-1 means it is all to play for next week.
Here is the video of the goals

The photos you and others have shown have put a different view of the enthusiasm that I thought was lacking by the locals as I walked from the Weyler to Avda San Sebastian, I am very glad that the team won and wish them every sucess in the second leg..... Certainly a fair ammount of English fans enjoying well earned refreshment in the Cafeteria Santa Barbara before and after the game.
