View Full Version : Any suggestions for some Classical Wedding Music?

I'm getting married in 3 months time, in a registry office and I have a choice of the Bridal March or classical music for the entrance. I'm no spring chicken and we've both been married before so don't really want the Bridal March. Any suggestions for classical music? I have looked online and the suggested ones Pachelbel- Canon in D, Handel - Arrival of the queen of Sheba, Vivaldi - Spring, from the Four Seasons, none of these really appeal, any one got any ideas? I would like something a bit lively and cheerful that is instantly recognised.

I didn't recognise the title, but I certainly recognised the music, I love it.

Hehe, that brings back memories of the Bitter and Twisted show or Mister Sister, what a laugh, one of my favourites.

Ok, you're in charge of the Hen night, just remember it has to be suitable for several pensioners and my 90 yr old Mum, so it's probably a good idea to bring a few spare Tena ladies just in case! Nothing like a few drinks and a good laugh.:D

I feel Pachelbel's Canon has been overdone at weddings the past years, and although I love classical, I would also consider these romantic melodies:

The Wedding Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRyrPZCcqzE) by Kenny G. (sorry about advert at start)

Annie's Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C21G2OkHEYo) by John Denver

Annie's Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzDEKFohjQI) played by James Galway (flute)

Morning Has Broken (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKoRp05L95c) by Cat Stevens (music orginally a Scottish melody and hymn)

Morning Has Broken (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYcVGrSdmao) instrumental played by Rick Wakeman, Piano (same who played the piano backing for Cat Stevens)

I did such a great job organising my wedding, I should become a wedding planner.... hubby even laughed that I had the itinerary for the day down to a T... I even got the times perfectly timed for where and what time we should all be everywhere .... I'm talking about organising and making sure half the wedding party, about 20 odd family/friends were picked up from hotels by hubbies family at certain times (taking into account Canarian punctuality LOL), and taken to registry office, and then to reception LOL and I said we'd be all sat down by 3pm to eat and hubby said "ohhh that's late, we'll be there a lot earlier" ... but guess who was right :D oh, that'll be me hehehehe.....

We didn't have music for the registry office though :)

Have you considered the wedding processional from "The Sound of Music"? There are various recordings, etc., of it but this was the first one I found. I am sure you could find an original from the soundtrack but this one seems to be a better version. Whatever you choose, I do hope you have a lovely day and wish you both all the very best in the future.
