Now that Dr Karen Whittaker is no longer practising can anyone recommend another English doctor rather than a doctor who speaks English, in the south. Thanks.

I don't know, but if it's a womanly problem I'm prepared to have a look and give an opinion...
PS, I speak perfect English...

I don't believe that there are any others as she took over years back from the original guy that was in Cristian Sur( cant remember his name).
There are others who speak English in the private sector but as GPs they tend to change quite a lot. If its specialists then it depends on what in as the vast majority speak excellent English but don't use it!

His name was Dr. Johnson whose original surgery was next to Wingate School in Cabo Blanco. He then moved to Cristian Sur and sild it to Karen when he retired.

Consequently she moved to the Arona Gran

Thanks.she has retired??? i only saw her in may and she sorted me out in no time, even my own gp agreed with what she prescribed me, and have now changed my medication, and i thought at the time what a wonderful asset she was to the brit community, and how very approachable she was, she will be sadly missed:(, so i will be eager to know of an english doctor in the south as well.

I don't think there is another English Doctor in the South, her Practice has been taken over by Excellent Medical Center and there will be an English speaking female Doctor taking the Morning Surgery and a male English speaking Doctor taking the Afternoon/Evening Surgery. I for one will really miss her as she was fantastic with my disabled Husband.

I think the OP meant a native English speaking doctor.

Dr. David Robson is there,...

see my post ( I had a dreadful experience with a private doctor ) this was Karen whitiker's old practice at the arona gran. the doctors I have seen there barely speak English, maybe you might get lucky as I believe their are several doctors working different shifts
