Tenerife Forum Fantasy Football sign ups 2013/14

Well it's that time of the year again :) Fantasy Football time.

I will be running the Tenerife Forum Fantasy Football Classic League alongside the Tenerife Forum Head to Head League for the 2013/14 season.

Both leagues below are now set up and they are free to join....Only obligations are that you must be a Tenerife Forum member,all players must join the league before the season starts as late entries won't be allowed to join once the season commences.

There will be regular updates on both leagues as per usual,if anyone is having trouble joining either league,post something here and i will get back to you.

Hopefully we will get quite a few sign ups again this year,the more the merrier really.....Good luck to one and all.!!!!:football::football::football:

well!! it is official the ice bats have landing the biggest football there is and we have comes to terms that our secrent player has join forces with the ice bats. so our team is now complented. after driving thru all night to agreed to our tearms. he agree!! so i do feel sorry for col nil,aj and the other teams. THE BEAST FROM THE EAST IS HERE!! so how he is very hungry!! keep saying FEED ME MORE, FEED ME MORE!! even the ice bats have their own theme song for the team hope everyone take word the ice bats are coming!!! hahahaha

Slodgedad, register with the link, then on the right you should see something that says "Leagues" click this, then it will be something along the lines of join private league, this is where you can put the code in...

the price list for players is next to them after you've clicked transfers to choose your team, or if you press the "i" button to get info there

you can reaarange your team as many times as you like, before the season kicks off, but after that it's 2 transfers a week I think and one wild card each half of the season? but this may have changed sisnce I last played a couple of seasons ago,

Hello Eliot,yeah it's a real easy site to use ,all you have to do is register on this link (Official site link ---- http://fantasy.premierleague.com/) once registered you pick a team name and then select your team,you can do a quick auto-select on sign up and they will give you a full team that you can then change to how you want it (transfers before the season are all free mate ,so change your team as many times as you like up until season kick off) Once the season starts you can use 1 free transfer a week,each additional transfer costs -4 points) i add a Scout report each week once we are up and running that shows which players are looking good for a particular gameweek ,it's really good fun and a great way to enjoy your football.

Points scoring goes as follows

During the season, your fantasy football players will be allocated points based on their performance in the Barclays Premier League.

For playing up to 60 minutes 1
For playing 60 minutes or more 2
For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender 6
For each goal scored by a midfielder 5
For each goal scored by a forward 4
For each goal assist 3
For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender 4
For a clean sheet by a midfielder 1
For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper 1
For each penalty save 5
For each penalty miss -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender -1
For each yellow card -1
For each red card -3
For each own goal -2

Good luck Gordon,should be an ace league again this season mate,got 19 in so far,be nice to get 25 or so,always love doing the Tenerife Forum Leagues,we got a good bunch of players in here and it's always a good laugh and quite competitive to say the least :) bring it on

Few hints and tips for Fantasy Football for all members

11 things you need to know about FPL (just some random thoughts that might help mostly new players):

1 - taking hits is like drugs - it's fun in moderation, but when you get addicted there is no way back
2 - if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's a duck - Don't draft an off form player just cause his "due".
3 - don't bother with heavy defence before Christmas - many mid table teams will provide many cs until January , when you separate the men from the boys.
4 - don't gamble with captain choices. Yes, once in a blue moon you will be the only one who captained anichebe when he drops 13, but more often then not Rvp/bale/Suarez/Walcott will score ten x two while your ingenious captain choice teaches you the meaning of "fluke" and why they are usually not repeated.
5 - FPL is like golf - it takes at least 6 hours of your weekend and makes the wife annoyed. Buy an iPhone and pretend you listen while you check scores and forums under the table.
6 - buying a mid for 4.3 or a 3.8 defender will free a bit more funds, but will surely cost you points - you need a decent bench - you will be surprised how many times your bench will be in play.
7 - winning your mini league is only fun when your biggest rival is NOT the secretary from the fourth floor - give yourself a challenge and join some strong leagues too.
8 - don't waste a transfer on a keeper. You have wild cards for sorting goal keepers.
9 - listen to people, learn, but make up your own mind - dont blame others for bad advice - dont forget YOU are driving this car. It's on you buddy.
10 - watch some games - stats will only get you so far - sometimes you need to see players in action.
11- we know your wife does not have an active FPL team. Stop it. It's fine. Many people have a second team for whatever reason.

Should be a cracking league this season Barry,a few newbies have entered the fray,think we have ended up with 22 in the main league and 12 in the head to heads,pretty good that is,let the battles commence :)

Some really good scoring going on in the Tenerife Forum Classic league over the the weekend,i will do our 1st leagues update after the last game of this gameweek on Wednesday...AguaDulce Reds,Callao Kings,the tykesters and Murph all looking rather good at this moment in time,good stuff guys. :)
