According to today's Sun:
"A Brit was in a coma last night after being found with severe head injuries in an airport toilet.
Sean Breigdeman, 45, had just flown from Liverpool when he is feared to have been attacked in Tenerife, Spain.
He was due to meet his waiting girlfriend when police found him. Docs put him in a coma but warned he could end up in a vegetative state.
A relative blasted cops for not revealing where he was for 24 hours."

This must have been caught on camera? The airport must be bristling with them.

This was in JA's blog earlier in week , very little information on whether it was airside or general public side .
Scary when you consider the amount of security that's supposed to be in an airport!

Unbelievable that this could happen when you consider the amount of people that head to the toilets especially after getting off a plane!

Surely, the first toilets are at the end of the luggage carousel, nothing I am aware of before that.

Nobody said there were any before the baggage hall obs.

It's still the first place my missus heads for when we land. And it's always busy.

Someone witnessed whatever happened without a doubt. An intriguing story indeed.

Sorry baz but a story in the sun newspaper has a reputation of printing before finding the full facts......will wait to the truth comes....... out either way a very sad story and hope for the best for the person......and a long jail time for the person that did this.

Ageed. Some of the questionable reporting in recent years is just so bad.
Having said that the limited information available makes this event seem bizarre. Clearly if the event took place inside then that suggests the result of previous issues whereas if the toilet was on the "outside" area this does suggest a possible robbery!

Yea we cannot have a negative story about the almost perfect island of dreams, if it was a story in the Sun about a good Samaritan doing something wonderful would you be so sceptical or just accept it must be true?

It's not only The Sun, this was posted in Island Connections, on 26/07......

Local media in Tenerife are reporting today that a Briton is critically ill in a coma in the Candelaria hospital after being found with mysterious head injuries in Tenerife South Airport.

Tenerife - 26.07.2013 - According to the La Opinión newspaper, the 45-year-old man flew to the island in mid-week for a wedding but appeared to vanish on arrival. His concerned family spent 24 hours hunting for him despite allegedly being told initially that he had never landed in Tenerife. Police now say he was found bleeding badly from head wounds in the airport toilets and was taken first to a local hospital in Playa de Las Américas before being rushed to the Candelaria, where he is in intensive care. According to a family member, doctors there have said his injuries are "unlikely" to have been caused by a fall. The British Consulate said this morning that it was "aware of the case".

My reading into the info provided is that the toilets in question are at the carousels.
