SAMSUNG LED TV model number UE55D6530WSXXC
This is a Spanish spec TV bought in Tenerife, Spain. We are returning to the UK and would like to know if this TV is compatible with the UK digital broadcasting system. Would we be able to receive Freeview channels with the TV as it is, or would we require a Freeview box and would this be compatible?
Would you foresee any disadvantages in taking this model TV to the UK.
Many thanks for your assistance.

Many thanks for your assistance.i would say yes it would work, because if it is quite new then when you set it up it ask's you to pick a country to be broadcast in, the only thing you will have a problem with is the power supply, because we have 3 pin and spain uses 2, but you should be able to get an adapter?, also you should check to see if it is capable of using 240 volts? and depending on how much the carriage would be?

Thanks Marbro8. I did email Samsung and the sent a very 'sitting on the fence' reply, saying that their TV were manufactured for the specific areas in which they were sold, althought my particular model may well work in the UK and more so with a freeview box. I think it should and will just take it with me and keep my fingers crossed. Cheers

I have a Samsung in Tenerife and it picks up the free view channels from UK , from Satellite , the tuner also scans one channel higher than the UK models for certain Spanish channels .
I don't see why it should be a problem .

No chance mate. Apart from all the televisual problems all the electricity here is from oil whereas in the UK it can be produced from all manner of sources so deffo not compatible. Then you have the problems with the Health & Safety regulations on top of transport & insurance costs.
However I can possibly take it off your hands for 50 euros as it will be a mate for my own Samsung.
Glad to be able to help.
