Hey.

We just go back from our two-week stay in Adeje .. the Hotel Fanabe Costa Sur.

The whole area (not just the hotel) is so clean compared to what I thought was our clean and tidy suburb of Manchester! The area has clearly been done up a lot quite recently. Seems very pedestrian-friendly with all the speed-ramps and big pavements.

And I needn't have been concerned about being hassled by the PRs and street-sellers - my all-inclusive wristband and prescription sunglasses seemed to act like garlic-to-a-vampire. I was only approached by two watch sellers in the two weeks, no-one else.

The beach the other side of the rocky walk (playa del duque?) was very nice too, some lovely looking hotels and houses all around.

We went to Siam Park, and I was fascinated by the massive modern villa perched on the top of the mountain .. looked like some kind of celeb or mafioso pad :wow:

So we're now more focussed than ever on paying our mortgage off and either relocating or getting a small place over there. I loved every minute of it, even though the weather was cloudy for 5 straight days

Oh, and even though we ate far too much, I managed to lose 5lbs with all my walking and sweating :D .. my wife gained 8lbs from lazing by the pool drinking all day

Can't wait to come back next year.

Although we have not stayed in Adeje we go there quite a lot in the evening and said its a more up coming resort than Las Americas and Los Cristianos ,you don't get hassled by prs etc the pavements are a lot cleaner and the whole area just seems more upmarket. If and when you decide to live here you won't regret it,we moved here 3 months ago and love it.

That is a nice hotel - we popped in there 1 or 2 evenings last time we were over as we stayed up the road in Costa Adeje Gran Hotel - nice place but very "formal"

Yeah we saw the Costa Adeje Gran further up the road, looked very nice! We were going to ask to have a look at a room to compare the two but we never got round to it.

At the moment I'm struggling to get the 'mini disco' kids songs out of my head, and failing.

Thank you Esskay! "Chuchua" is the antidote to "It's a Small World", which has been stuck in my head since visiting Disneyland in 1986.

Hmm, that's a new one on me. My first holiday abroad was in 1994 though.

As tempted as I am to google that one, I will resist. I have enough tunes in my head right now as it is :singing:
