You'd usually get that message if the new members haven't been authorised yet. The forum I used to run did this to stop the dodgy 'bots' from spamming porn links (we can find our own, thank you) and 'real' people that were banned on other sites that were on the same poker theme as mine from trying to access it.

We have had a problem recently with spammers and fortunately the auto mod is coping. The physical act of reporting them individually to the Spam control takes a bit longer which is why the silly names appear. They appear as new members but the content has been removed and reported.

Without exaggeration, we have suffered hundreds of automated spam attacks lately which is why mods haven't been as prolific of late. We are all tied up with spam control.
