Hi All,
I wanted to watch some spanish TV & bring up subtitles in spanish & at a later date maybe bring up subtitles in english if thats possible.
But not sure where to start.
Can anyone advise a good channel i.e I thought the news would be slower & better pronounced. I also have no idea how to bring up subtitles for the channel using teletext. I brought up teletext page but am struggling to navigate it, because of course its in spanish (-;
Any help apreciated

IMO I don't think that's a very good way to learn - it's too quick and also the Spanish accent is very different to the Canarian I take it that you live in the Canaries from what I am understanding ?

Have you been for classes - or even had a look on line for courses - again the accent and some words will differ but it's not a major problem.

I started in a little class of all ages in Pueblo Canario (prob not there now) it was a brilliant slow start

Buena suerte !

Hi All,

You think you are getting the gist but it's an illusion, because it goes "bla bla blah Obama blah Blah Blah Putin Blah Blah Siria Blah Blah" So with the pictures you can usually work out what they are rabbitting on about. But definitely not the optimum medium for language learning.

I recommend Peppa Pig - or anything on the CLAN channel. LINK HERE (http://www.rtve.es/infantil/videos-juegos/#/videos/peppa-pig/todos/hace-muchos-anos/1883648/)

You can watch DVDs in SPanish with the Spanish subtitles on. They don't always exactly match what is spoken, but really help to follow a quick dialogue. Also you can replay. ;-)

Thanks to all, but no advice on how to do the subtitles )-: Used it as a tool to learn Italian & works well for me. But I probably need a better spanish base language 1st. I Have micelle thomas learn spanish Cds, which is great. But a local classroom environment would probably be a good thing. There dont seem to be as many courses locally in south tenerife as I would have expected. If anyone knows of any, please shout. Thanks
