Go to La Orotava for a day and wander around the streets, trying out the restaurants, visiting Casa de Los Balcones, the gofio mill.

Go to Playa Jardin at Punta Brava, walk around the seawalk, try the homemade soups and seafood, walk around Punta Brava village, narrow streets, take photos.

Take a drive north along the coast road to Tejina, Bajamar and Punto Hidalgo. Try the fish restaurants and look at the view.

Go hiking up around Aguamansa. Visit the fish farm and walk around the forest.

Drive up La Caldera on the way up Teide. Stop for a picnic at the tables in the woods. Take photos.

Visit the Tacoronte market on Saturdays or Sundays, buy homemade wine from the farmer, honey from the beekeeper, fresh vegetables from the agricultors.

Use your imagination. There's so much to see and do.

If you are going to eat go the Monasterio as not only is the food good but it is a great place. In Los Realejos.

Plenty if you have a car just grab a map & visit some of these places.
If you don't have a car there is an excellent bus service all over the island or Taxi's are reasonable for a group of 4.

We had Australian friends visit last week & these are some of the places we took them & we all enjoyed it so much,

Puerto de la Cruz- pretty town to walk around with it's numerous places to eat.

Jardin Botanico in La Paz short distance from Puerto de la Cruz & lovely restaurants opposite.

We had a lovely few hours driving to Garachico walking around & having lunch

La Orotava a lovely town which is heritage listed

Almost at the end of the island the Anaga Mountains & Taganana for scenery so different to the rest of the island.

Just outside Puerto de la Cruz old mansion which serves stunning cocktails, has live Jazz concert Friday nights & Classical Concerts on Sunday. The gardens are stunning & the house is a musuem which you can view how the family lived in the 18th Century

In Santa Cruz they host all manner of the arts & ticket prices are modest, you can book online from their website

I agree anski ...all wonderful places to visit .....and four of us hired a taxi for the day at one time ...cost 90euros...great guy the taxi driver (even though he couldn't speak English)! good for our Spanish though ! and he would wait for us whenever we needed to linger ... at no extra cost ....

Another attraction in Puerto ....The Lago Martianez ...and Casino if you have money to throw away ! :eyebrows:

A great atmosphere in the Square in Puerto at night. Music playing adds to it & a great place to people watch too.

Also in Icod visit the beautiful square right by the little park where the famous Dragon Tree is. There is a huge Banyan tree in the square and a church with a Museum of Sacred Art that includes a huge silver Mexican filigree cross. And then there is the Mariposario indoor butterfly gardens in this part of Icod too. The tourist shops there all do free cheese and wine and liqueur tasting too. There's plenty to do in Icod which also has a great shopping centre.
