New San Blas community centre opens

Have just found out about this new Centre. Looks very interesting.

Excellent. It has been sad to see that building unused. The courses sound great, especially the art class. I do hope that those of us who 'come and go' are able to join in. (I had dreamed of buying the property, a very attractive building, and living there but it wouldn't have happened and I'm thrilled that it is being put to such good use.)

Hi Margaretta I had a chat last night with the woman now running the centre Ruth Plummer. Her mother still owns the building and she used to have a school there. Yes you can just turn up for a class. I am off there tomorrow for the Meditation and stretching at 11am. 5 euros I think. I asked if they might be able to run a life class in the art classes, she suggested we talk to Lindsay. She was very happy I had put it up on this forum.

That sounds really worthwhile and thank you for the information Rosemary. Newby was asking about art groups recently on the Forum and he might be interested in this too.

Can anyone tell me when the Pilates classes take place?

I'll ask to day about Pilates. I shall have to employ severe discipline after the class because I just KNOW I will be tempted to have a coffee walnut cake at Hatties!! They close at 5pm which it's always too early for me......talking of afternoon teas..they are now doing the proper job, sandwiches etc at the Nauticus restaurant (not the cafe outside) - it's not cheap but nice for a birthday treat maybe.

OK guys, I loved it. The building is beautiful, spacious and airy and with a lovely light spiritual atmosphere. Ruth says there is a children's class there at the back. The meditation class was almost full, so you may need to ring Ruth before coming. 5 euros.
Wed 11am to 12noon. Bring mat if you have one, but she does have some and cushions.

The Centre opens 10 mins before the class begins and there is no receptionist, just find the classroom.
The building is at the top of that one way back road out of San Blas, last but one building.

Pilates is Monday 11am to 12noon and Thursday 9.30am to 10.30am 7 euros per class with Daniela 671 355 392.
