Looking for other peoples view on Locanda Italian restaurant on the El Mirador strip.

We have been 3 times, May, September and December. On the first 2 visits we thought is was excellent, maybe a bit pricey though. On these 2 visits our table was on the lower section near the pathway. On our December visit our table was at the rear next to the passage into the kitchen which gave us a view of all the tables on the top part of the restaurant.

December visit we arrived about 6:55 as it gets very busy so we try to beat the rush, there was no bread, service was a bit slow but we were on holiday so not in a rush. We shared a starter as we have previously struggled to eat everything, bread, starter, main and coffee. This is when things started to go down hill, we waited what seemed like a very long time for our main course, the table of 6 in front of us (4 adults & 2children) sent 3 of the adult meals back, by the time the were replaced the other 3 had finished there meal. The main course (both chicken dishes) arrived we had no complaints it was excellent. We had to ask for the sweet menu. The main courses for the table next to us where forgotten about. Another table of 3 in front slightly to the right of us continually asked for their main courses which arrived just before we left. Another table with young children we believe walked out as their main course was taking to long. The person we though was the head waiter had a very loud shouting match with kitchen staff which was heard by a lot of the customers in the top section of the restaurant.

Overall in December our food was excellent, service very poor with a lot of unhappy customers. We're we just unlucky or is this the norm with our table allowing us to view a lot of other tables and see the problems that our 2 previous visits didn't.

Only been there once and had no problems, nice food and service.
Perhaps it was a one off.
