Hello,

I work for a large outdoor clothing company and we're looking for locations in Tenerife to shoot out Spring Summer campaign for 2014. As the company is based in the UK we need the landscape to look like it's mainly in the UK - so green trees and dirt paths. We're also looking to do some beach/sea shots for the summer part of the shoot.

The North East part of the island (Anaga) looks the most green, but do you know what type of trees there are?

We're looking to visit in January/Feb.

Hopefully Tenerife can cover off all of the scenarios that we're looking for.

Any help on this would be fantastic.

Thank you very much!

The north of the island is greener than the south but I doubt that you will find it easy to create a UK appearance to the landscape. The higher you go, the more you come to forests of Canary pine, laurel and juniper. Gigantic Indian laurel trees are also seen at sea levels. Such could be seen ascending the road to Teide, (http://canarybird.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Vilaflor-Teide-June-2009-1/i-X9JCvgB/0/M/P6023847-M.jpg) and I know it only going up from the Orotava side where you gradually come to a change in vegetation, leaving the semi-tropical sea level growth for pine forests with hiking trails which are marked with signs visible from the road. Here is the area around Vilaflor (http://canarybird.smugmug.com/Landscapes/Vilaflor-Teide-June-2009-1/i-8FsTmcF/0/M/P6023833-M.jpg), which is the highest town of the Canary Islands. Don't know if that would resemble UK scenery. Here's the link to an old album (http://www.pbase.com/canarybird/teide&page=all) I made driving up the road to Teide where you can see the changes in vegetation.

You will always come across a palm tree or some other semi tropical vegetation in any location but with careful choosing you may be able to create a forest atmosphere as a background but you will have to up to higher levels to do so.

You could also check out the Laurisilva (laurel) forests which, although they are a semitropical forest, they could provide some beautiful moody backgrounds with the trails you would like to have. You will see a laurel forest in the Anaga mountains. Have a look at the photos here (https://www.google.es/search?q=Laurisilva+forests+of+Tenerife&client=firefox-a&hs=BQw&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=jkvBUrK0CMaS7Aa1sYH4Dw&ved=0CD0QsAQ&biw=1378&bih=722) on Google images.

Good luck. :)

I meant to add this video from Cyberhiker (Gary (http://youtu.be/_6NAYb6Qgd4)) of a walk in the Mercedes Forest of the Anaga mountains where you can see for yourself the vegetation there.

You can shoot anywhere if you're creative

When other people have gone to the trouble of answering and they havnt even bothered to say thank you, especially as its a first post then yes that's rude enough for a ban I should think. They clearly have no other use for this forum.
