Hi all,

Has anyone had any success with removing scratches from an LCD monitor? Its fairly significant and quite noticeable.

Alternatively, does anyone want a 23" LCD monitor with a significant scratch? If not, its off to the bin...

Cheers, Phil

Mental note to self .... check things when they are returned after loaning them out :)

Thanks. Tried both but the scratches are too big for the chapstick option ... and the cardboard one - is not recommended! It produced a few more scratches.... Looks like its for the bin then.

Never mind, the lesson will be well remembered :)

Clean the screen, allow to dry then fill the scratch with vaseline. Gently wipe off any excess, being careful to leave some vaseline in the scratch.

Tried that, it was too deep and still looked rubbish, so I turfed it in the bin.

It was returned half in a plastic bag and I thought that was nice and to protect it, but it turns out it was to cover this scratch ...

I think you'll need to take it in to a store and have it done professionally, having spoken to a TV Technician the cost of a screen will be more than what the monitor is probably worth.

Buy New Matrix or buy second hand monitor will be cheaper :)
