In 13 years I have never seen snow this low, much less, not had to leave my house for it.

My kids are playing in it now.

If you play about with the link you can see the winds that pulled the cold air down to give the snow .

And yet, still normal after all the warnings, in some parts. Micro climate island. Love it.

Just wondering how many of you would live here if there was no sun. Keep saying Tenerife would be nothing without the sun. Went to a indian for a meal on beach last night I I was freezing.

I think the warmth is probably 80% of the reason I live here, although I don't like it too hot.

If the weather was the same as Spain or France I would have a house there as its less journey time and the flights are cheaper. I could even get a dog and drive to the continent via the channel tunnel.

I find French easier than Spanish too as I learnt it at school all those years ago!

Yes , if you click on "Earth" it will open a list of parameteres and clickon Conrol parameters you can go forward/Backward in time ,click on Overlay parameters to change what you are measuring, click on" Earth" and it will close - double click on an area and it will zoom in and give you the data for that `point either present or a future forecast.
By holding down LH mouse you can move globe around .

Wow, awesome pics, Krusty.

Tourism here is mainly based on the warmth / sun, and without tourism, there would be a lot less jobs, property prices would be lower, and maybe the economy would revert to what it was sixty years ago, when boatloads of refugees left here for Venezuela.

That said, places like Ireland have terrible weather most of the year, and yet tourism flourishes... I guess it would be harsh to say that Tenerife is "nothing" without the sun.

It was nice but I don't think I've warmed up yet. Saw a temperature sign saying 26 about 3 pm but I would have said it felt more like 20-21.

No, am not lobster. It's barely touched me! I have a very low basal temp about 36 degrees so these things seem to take much longer with me.
I did put a su dress on though!

Wow. Can believe it in uk with the distance between Scotland and London but here the distance must onlybe 60 miles.

Very grateful for the fact I am here and not up there.

Would like to be there Tuesday for festival though ;-(
