View Full Version : Health How are folks getting their important or favourite medicines? Local, Internet or UK?
Just a quickie
I`m on a few Tabs a day "diabetes" "Blood Pressure" LOL and wonder if It`s cheaper now just to buy online or whether the scripts are reasonably priced on the island ( income taken int consideration Blah Blah...) . Everything is free in the UK for diabetics Including Viagra if I needed it.:wink2:

Diabetic also. my meds at UK rate if i paid for them (i get them free too) would be around 120gbp for 3 months, so I fly back to the UK and get 3 months at a time. Im fortunate that my doctor in the UK is happy to do this as I understand that she could in effect take me off her list and tell me to see a doc in Tenerife! so be careful what you tell your doctor if you want to keep your uk one. You wont get free prescriptions here unless you are paying for private health cover and even then you may have to pay. My return flight is usually less than the cost of the drugs and I need to go back once every 3 months in any case, so that works for me.
Being an old git, I get almost free prescriptions, we pay 10%. The Boss is not quite an old git, but she is classed as my dependent and she only has to pay 10%.
I'm not on Tenerife Island, but my health card covers me for all over Spain.
