Hi All
I am attending Social Doctor in Adeje next week. Its a morning appointment and was wondering if I need to bring an interpreter with me. My Spanish is not very good
I can only say that here in the North of the Island and I am sure it is no different in the South there are notices that you must take an interpreter with you as they only speak Spanish.
I appreciate that there are some Doctors who do speak English but unless you know it is better to go prepared.

Yes
You need to speak Spanish or take an interpreter

My Spanish is quite good and I rely on it for most things, but when it comes to the doctor I always take someone more fluent than me.
After all, one mistake in translation could be life or death.

Having used various branches of the Social medical services I can assure you that you will need a competent Spanish speaker although I do understand that a couple of the doctors in Adeje have been known to break into perfect English when least expected!
