walking groups in South Tenerife for 15 year old boys?

I may be having my 6ft tall and very active 15 year old grandson and his friend for a week. They love nature and ph otography and are very active, naturally. I am not up to walking unfortunately but does anyone know if there is a group that they could join? Any ideas on keeping them fit and active will be welcomed. I know the bus tours are great value but they need to be worn out every night!!
And does anyone know if it is safe for them to climb Red Rock unaccompanied?!
