Hi
I do a lot of hotel and holiday park work in uk, know Tenerife quite well having visited around ten times in last twenty years and wondering what the entertainment scene is like for working there? Is it all run by agents for example?
Typical night last night for me on a gig was singing a few songs, thirty minute quiz, a 45 minute spot singing again another bingo then karaoke disco.

I am a male solo vocalist working the club circuit in uk used by all leading agents but also have my own disco karaoke company as well as children's parties which is why I get a lot of caravan park work over here. 52 years old and thinking of a change of scenery now. I am also a keyboard player when doing my club shows.

Not sure whether Spanish mainland or canaries is more likely to have anything for me? You are possible overrun with stuff too for all I know.

Have all my own bingo dj stuff in laptops of course. Must stress I'm not one of these washed out acts going wherever there might be work as I am very busy over here, just really fancy the change now.

Any thoughts anyone?

If you are good you will get work, leave the Bingo stuff at home it is illegal in Tenerife, Karaoke always goes down well, especially a professional one! Good luck!

Tenerife South is a tough place for the acts there is a lot of competition , you've got some real poor stuff who are basically doing an hour for a couple of pints , you've got hotels who use the same person to do everything ,kids club then a bit of singing then a some games etc but these jobs are poorly paid and they tend to employ youngsters who are easier to put upon and pay less , there are some really good solo vocalists that are based in tenerife they do some work there but there main work is on the cruise ships , it's tough to build a full diary over there you keep being let down , e.g you may be due on at 9pm the bar may call you at 8pm and say don't bother 2night there's not many in ! Believe me I know , my best mate a top entertainer and lives in the south , work was that up and down he mainly works on the cruises now

You better let them know at the massive Bingo hall in Las Chafiras then!
