Where can I get house insurance in south Tenerife?

Looking for house insurance cover in the south.

I asked the very same question a couple of weeks ago on the Tenerife Wanted group on Facebook - the photo below shows some of the recommendations I received.

I would seek the advice of long term residents on a question like this as, in my opinion, money is not necessarily the prime motivation for chosing a particular insurer. eg myself. Having lived here 25 years I,ve tried a number of companies but, out of complete satisfaction in all areas of insurance I would very strongly suggest you speak to Chris (owner) or Rebecca, his very able assistant, at TIS who deal with Liberty Securos, one of Spain,s prime companies in this field. On of the principal advantages of dealing with TIS is that they are on the ground and speak English or Spanish, whichever is needed.

Jandy, whatever insurance provider you consider using, I would recommend that you ask people what their experiences are when it comes to making a claim. Obviously you would hope not to HAVE to make a claim, but sometimes matters are outwith your control.. The only reason I was looking for recommendations recently is because the insurer I have been with since I bought my apartment has given me notice that they are not renewing my policy this year due to the claims I have had recently as a result of a burst pipe...

Last december with The storms we claimed For two Things they were slowish but fixed one problem And paid out in The other

Had 3 claims with Liberty for our cars. Very professional and speedy!

Do you have a contact number for them. As we are with the same company (I think) we were instructed a good few years back that we had to take the insurance out with the bank as a part of our mortgage deal. Visited bank this week to say we wanted to cancel and get our own insurance to be told we don't deal with this insurance company that was Caja Canaries as we are now La Caixa we deal with a different insurance company. He still managed to print of our contract with all details and told us to ring the number on paperwork. Wife went to internet cafe to use phone to call and the guy said don't ring that number it is premium rate.

Thanks, if you need something done do it ....... ......in saying that insurance is in wife's name. Do they speak English or transfer you to a person that can speak English.

Just got really good deal with GES insurance which was recommended by my employers solicitor, they gave me the cover I wanted at a very reasonable price.
